Serving Grades 7 and 8

Welcome to J. Frank Dobie Junior High School—home of nearly 1,400 7th and 8th graders learning, leading, and thriving in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, just northeast of San Antonio!

Originally built in 1974 as an intermediate school, Dobie earned its junior high status in 1998—and we’ve been growing champions ever since. Each year, our students excel in academics, athletics, and UIL competitions, proudly bringing home the coveted sweepstakes trophy.

Beyond the classroom, Dobie students have endless opportunities to get involved—from Athletics, Band, Choir, Drama, and Orchestra to NJHS and Student Council—there’s a place for every student to shine, lead, and connect.
