SCUC ISD is proud to highlight the journey of SCUC alum Maddie Riney, a 2016 graduate of Samuel Clemens High School.
After graduating from Tarleton State University with a degree in Human Resources, Maddie began her career as a Civilian HR Specialist with the U.S. Air Force. During that time, she continued her education, earning her MBA in Project Management from Dallas Baptist University. While balancing her career and studies, Maddie discovered her passion for event planning—eventually taking the leap to pursue it full time. Today, she is the owner of Moments by Maddie, creating meaningful and memorable events for her clients.
WHERE IS SHE NOW?
Maddie is now the owner and lead planner of Moments by Maddie, where she specializes in coordinating weddings and events, bringing her clients’ visions to life through thoughtful planning and attention to detail.
WHAT WAS HER INSPIRATION FOR HER CURRENT CAREER?
Maddie has always been a natural planner and leader. She realized event planning was the perfect way to combine those strengths, allowing her to create experiences that bring people together and celebrate life’s most important moments.
IN WHAT WAYS DID HER TIME AT SCUC ISD PREPARE HER FOR HER CAREER?
During her time in SCUC ISD, Maddie was involved in a variety of clubs and organizations that helped her discover her passion for planning and develop her leadership skills. Those experiences also led to lasting friendships and connections that continue to support her business today.

“Get involved in everything you can—join clubs, attend events, and build connections. You never know when those relationships will come full circle.”
