Partnerships and collaboration helped launch the inaugural Health & Wellness Fair today at Samuel Clemens High School in the school cafeteria and adjacent hallway. Organized by the district's HR/Wellness Benefits Team, the event aimed to promote inclusive workplace wellness and start the new year positively.

The aim was to promote an inclusive workplace wellness and kick off the new year on a positive note..
Over fifty vendors and district partners showed up with information to help employees learn more about the varied pillars of wellness: social, physical, spiritual, environmental, emotional, financial, occupational and intellectual. All campuses and departments were welcomed and visited Clemens HS throughout the four hour session held during the Staff Development Day.

The event was supported by the tireless efforts of the SCUC Education Foundation, whose mission includes funding for teacher grants and student scholarships.
“The employees seemed happy with the opportunities to start the year well and see our local businesses,” said Rebecca Soto, VP of Marketing & Events for the Education Foundation.

Visitors were treated to a musical performance by Neal Stranahan, a Class of 2023 alum from Clemens HS. He taught himself to play the guitar approximately 18 months ago through video tutorials, and now performs at various musical venues in the community.
