First-year employees streamed into the boardroom throughout the afternoon in the New to SCUC reception.
First-year employees were welcomed at an SCUC  reception recognizing their contributions and reinforcing a culture of belonging across the school district on April 8, 2026. The event was held in the William Malish Building boardroom and offered staff an opportunity to connect in a relaxed, celebratory setting.
The New to SCUC reception was put on by the Human Resources Department.
Guests were greeted by the Human Resources team and were treated to a light meal and snacks upon their arrival. Prizes were raffled off some fortunate attendees.
Superintendent of Schools Paige Meloni was joined by senior leadership, principals and school board members - showing support for the newest employees and underscoring the district’s commitment to staff engagement and retention.
In keeping with the SCUC focus on gratitude, the gathering also served as a thank-you, honoring the hard work and dedication of employees beginning their careers with the district while fostering connections among colleagues.
Some first-year employees won prizes while connecting with senior leadership and school board trustees.
We would like to acknowledge event sponsors who were present at the event: Cardiology First Clinic, GVEC, Counseling Services of Carla Barnes & Brandi Martin, Schertz-Cibolo Emergency Clinic, and 24/7 ER.
Deepest gratitude as well to the members of the SCUC Human Resources Department for its hard work at the event and its consistent excellence in equipping the school district with outstanding employees.
Event sponsors were on hand to provide information about their services.
