This summer, seniors, Michelle Davidson and Case Dierschke, proudly represented SCUCISD and Samuel Clemens High School as National Youth Delegates for the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Both Michelle and Case were nominated by Clemens AP Environmental Science teacher and 2025 TCEQ Environmental Educator of the Year, Kacey Debney and were selected to be among the 300 delegates selected from across the United States.

During the week-long summit, both students had the incredible opportunity to meet and collaborate with environmental conservation specialists, scientists, distinguished scholars, and policymakers from organizations including National Geographic, Smithsonian Institute, and Congress. Notably, Davidson's team won their real-world simulation event focused on the effects of flooding on NASA infrastructure.
