On Wednesday & Thursday of this week, Samuel Clemens opened its doors, its programs, and its arms in welcome to 8th graders from Corbett Junior High School. The Class of 2030 interacted with current juniors & seniors to preview the campus, courses, and extracurriculars awaiting them at The Best High School in Texas™.

While AP English may not sound like fun & games, reviewing for an upcoming test was exactly that as students used numbered Jenga blocks to query one another.

Four members of the Samuel Clemens High School football team have been selected to take part in the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, presented by Valero - which will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2026 in the Alamodome at 5:30 p.m.
Aszir Cumby, Cumby, safety; Kameron Hoosier, defensive line; Christopher Aikman, punter; and Christian Dupree, receiver, will represent the Buffs as part of Team Blue. Dupree will be unable to compete due to an injury.
It is the 48th anniversary of the game, in which the greater San Antonio-area's top players take part with the opportunity to impress college scouts with potential college scholarships to offer.
Reserved tickets for the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game ($30) will go on sale on November 3rd and it will also be broadcast on The CW35 and 94.1 FM/1250 AM radio.
The game also follows the All-American Bowl, which kicks off at 12:30 p.m. in the Alamodome.

Our goal is to raise $78,100, a number inspired by the zip codes of our Schertz (78154) and Cibolo (78108) communities. It may seem ambitious, but if each SCUCISD family contributes just $5, we will be well on our way to meeting this goal.
The theme for this effort is “Hill Country Strong: Every Home Deserves a Comeback.” Together, we can ensure these families experience the homecoming they deserve.
We will begin collecting at all home games and encourage you to share our flyer to help spread the word. The funds will be delivered following the Steele Homecoming game on October 31 and the Clemens Homecoming game on November 7, with some of student volunteers traveling to meet and encourage the families who will benefit.
Thank you for showing the strength of our SCUCISD community and for joining us in bringing hope and healing to our neighbors in the Hill Country.

Only about 4% of all Boy Scouts ever reach this level. Joseph crushed key requirements like:
Leading a major Eagle Scout Service Project for the community.
Earning 21 Merit Badges (including tough ones like First Aid, Citizenship, and Personal Fitness).
Demonstrating Scout Spirit and holding leadership positions.
Our students are changing the world right here from Schertz, Texas. Congratulations Joseph!

Since 1999, NAWBO-SA’s six-month High School Mentorship Program has empowered hundreds of teen girls across San Antonio to dream bigger, lead boldly, and explore entrepreneurship as a path to financial independence. (from the HSMP website)
On October 2, six juniors represented Clemens High School at Texas A&M University-San Antonio for the NAWBO-SA High School Mentorship Program at the first conference of this year’s program.
Things our students stated about the conference:
"So I felt the first conference was good and I heard a lot of good ideas and feedback for my business."
" I felt that the conference taught me that there’s a lot of ways I could take my business."
"I felt that the conference showed me how passionate the rest of our peers are and how diverse everyone’s minds can be when being creative."
Thank you Dr. Rubel for leading this initiative with our future business leaders.
