At its regular December board meeting, the SCUC ISD Board of Trustees approved the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.
The calendar was developed through a collaborative process that included input from staff, parents, adn the District Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC). Considerations included instructional minutes, state requirements, and feedback related to major holidays and breaks.
Key Dates for the 2026-2027 School Year
First Day of School: Thursday, August 13, 2026
Last Day of School: Thursday, May 27, 2027 (early release)
Major Breaks & Holidays
Thanksgiving Break: November 23-27, 2026
Winter Break: December 21, 2026-January 1, 2027
Spring Break: March 8-12, 2027
Good Friday & Easter Holiday: March 26 and March 29, 2027
The calendar also includes designated staff development days, student holidays, early release days, and built-in flexibility for inclement weather, while meeting the state-required instructional minutes.
