☕ What an amazing morning at today's Parent University Workshop!
A huge thank you to our incredible Parent Family Engagement Coordinator, Ashleigh Fraser! As one of our dedicated Kindergarten teachers with a Master’s in Education, Mrs. Fraser brings so much heart, expertise, and passion to building strong connections between our campus and our families.
Today’s workshop, "Building a Strong Home-to-School Connection," gave families practical tools to help our students thrive both in and out of the classroom. Together, they covered:
Routines & Expectations: Navigating daily school expectations seamlessly.
Learning at Home: Utilizing home-learning QR codes sent home with students.
Study Habits: Creating a consistent, stress-free homework routine.
Teacher Communication: Staying connected and informed through ParentSquare.
Building Confidence: Supporting emotional growth using Conscious Discipline and Character Strong.
We also want to send a giant thank you to our local Schertz Starbucks on FM1103 for generously donating coffee for our parents today! We love our community partners. ☕❤️

Our Sunshine Crew had some extra special help welcoming students to school this morning! Three incredible football players from Samuel Clemens High School stepped up to join our morning drop-off, bringing big energy, warm welcomes, and inspiring leadership to our campus.
Having these Clemens student-athletes work alongside our dedicated staff made morning arrivals even brighter. Watching our elementary students' eyes light up as high school leaders open their car doors and wish them a great day shows just how special our feeder school connections truly are.
A huge thank you to these fantastic Buffs for giving back to our community, and to our hard-working Sunshine Crew staff who keep our car line safe, swift, and full of joy every single morning!

"Hello! I'm excited to begin my first year as the school counselor at Rose Garden Elementary. Before stepping into this role, I spent 24 years in education, teaching middle school math, and I'm thrilled to now support students in a new way. I love helping children build confidence, develop social-emotional skills, and discover that they can overcome challenges. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son and our two dogs, reading, crocheting, and messing around with my Cricut. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of our amazing students, building strong relationships with families and staff, and helping make this a fun, safe, and successful school year for everyone!"

Mrs. Megan Robinson joined our Rose Garden family last year as a Special Education Inclusion teacher, bringing 11 years of educational experience and so much heart to our campus. 💚

"My name is Megan Robinson and I am teaching Special Education Inclusion this year. This is my 11th year in education. I started as a paraeducator in special education and have taught both 1st and 2nd grade. I love reading, jigsaw puzzles, being crafty, and playing video games with my husband. I have two dogs and a cat and am equally obsessed with all three! 🐶🐱
I am so excited to join the Rose Garden family. I cannot wait to meet all the students and see what this year has in store!"

"I am so excited to be joining Rose Garden as a 3rd grade math and science teacher! This will be my 13th year in education and my 3rd year in SCUC. My husband and I have two daughters. Our oldest just moved into her dorm and is starting her university life, and our youngest is starting second grade. I love spending my time hiking in the mountains or playing pickleball with friends. I am looking forward to an incredible year here in 3rd grade with a phenomenal team!"

Here is a quick message from Mrs. Haynes:
"My name is Kari Haynes, and I am very excited to join the Rose Garden Elementary Family as a Special Education Inclusion Teacher. I earned my degree from the University of North Texas and have been teaching Special Education for the past 13 years in a self-contained classroom setting.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a son who is 29 and a daughter who is 25. Most recently, my daughter got married, which was such an exciting time for our family! I also enjoy watching romance and comedy movies, and I recently started learning to paint with watercolors. And of course, I love chocolate....I firmly believe it should be one of the four recommended food groups!
I love to watch children learn and grow both academically and emotionally. It is so rewarding to see students become proud of themselves and gain confidence in their abilities. I look forward to making this a great year!"
