Schlather Intermediate’s We Serve Too Club recently hosted a fun and meaningful team-building event that brought students and families together in a colorful way. Fifth and sixth graders teamed up with Mr. Jones, Mrs. Springer, and several military parent volunteers for a special camouflage face-painting activity.
Students learned how to create authentic camouflage designs while spending time connecting with one another and honoring the military families within the school community. Laughter filled the room as everyone compared designs and showed off their finished looks.
The We Serve Too Club, which supports students from military families, regularly plans hands-on experiences to build connection and understanding. In addition to team-building activities like this one, students have also had opportunities to try MREs (Meals Ready-to-Eat) and learn more about the day-to-day experiences of service members.
This latest event was not only creative and fun, but also a reminder of the strong sense of community at Schlather Intermediate... where students serve, support, and grow together.
