Secondary Summer Learning 2025

As summer approaches, we’re excited to share information about the High School Summer Learning Program hosted at Steele High School. This opportunity allows students to recover lost credits or earn initial credits in select courses.

🔹 Program Details

  • Dates: June 4 – June 26, 2025 (Closed on Fridays & no school on June 19th)

  • Days: Monday through Thursday only

  • Location: Steele High School

  • Grades: Current 9th–11th grade SCUCISD students or 8th grade students that did not pass Algebra 1.

🔹 Program Options

  • Credit Recovery: For students who were not successful in specific courses

  • Initial Credit: For students who wish to earn credit in Health, Professional Communications, or PE

🔹 Key Information

  • Cost: $50 per semester credit (0.5 credit); invoices provided on Day 1

  • Maximum Credits: Up to 2.0 credits (4 semesters)

  • Sessions:

    • AM: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM

    • PM: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

    • Students may attend one or both sessions

  • Drop-Off Location: Courtyard gates (staff will assist)

🔹 Courses Offered
Credit Recovery Courses:

These courses are available if your child was not successful during the school year:

English I, English II, English III, English IV, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC), World Geography, World History, U.S. History, Spanish I, Spanish II


Initial Credit Courses:

Open to current 9th–11th grade students who wish to earn new credit:

  • Health (0.5 credit)

  • Professional Communications (0.5 credit)

  • Physical Education (1.0 credit)

🔹 Additional Information

  • Chromebooks are provided for credit recovery; students may bring wired headphones

  • One snack provided per session; students may bring lunch from home

  • Transportation available – indicate your need during registration
