SCUC Board Trustees approved the recommendation to appoint Dr. Monica Schlueter as principal of O.G. Wiederstein Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year at a called meeting held on May 7, 2026. She has spent the past three years as principal of Floresville South Elementary.
Dr. Schlueter brings twenty years of experience in education, where she has a proven track record of building strong school communities and supporting teacher and student success. She has served as teacher, college professor, instructional coach and principal over that span.
"I am committed to creating an environment where staff feel supported, students feel valued, and high expectations inspire excellence in all we do," stated Dr. Schlueter in an open letter to Wiederstein staff, faculty and community members. Through collaboration, social-emotional well-being and strong systems, Dr. Schlueter believes the campus will thrive. "I truly believe when we work together, we can accomplish incredible things for kids."
Dr. Schlueter holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a Master's degree in Education Administration, and a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Schlueter to SCUC!
