Results from this year's Advanced Placement (AP) assessments were released earlier this week, and the Best High School in Texas™ continues its trend of testing an increasing number of students with increased opportunity to not only earn college credit but also enhance critical thinking skills in and out of the classroom. Already, AP teachers at Samuel Clemens are attending AP summer institutes and seeking new and effective ways to enable students to achieve their personal best.
Valued community partner GVEC is helping Samuel Clemens High School acquire new scoreboards for the Weldon Beard gym. The electric cooperative/internet services provider/HVAC/solar services giant is donating $32,386 for the purchase and installation of the scoreboards, which were last replaced in 1998, according to SCUC Athletics director Scott Lehnhoff.
Paige Meloni, SCUC ISD Superintendent, was on hand to thank GVEC for its continued generosity to the school district. She was joined by Mr. Lehnhoff, Alan Hill, Clemens HS interim coach/athletic coordinator; and Robyn Wunderlich, teacher and head volleyball coach.
Representing GVEC were: Gary Birdwell, Board President; Krista Davis, Senior Executive Manager: and Jeff Kerlick, Community Representative.
July 31st is a day reserved for the incoming Class of 2028. Receive preliminary schedule, take student ID pictures, and manage other logistics in preparing for and easing into the first day of school. Fish Camp will also offer a tour of the school for new & incoming students.

Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch will be taking senior portraits in the Clemens library (B101) for the 2024–25 yearbook. This is for the graduating class of 2025. The yearbook pose will provide a tux/drape AND cap/gown. Please wear a tank or tube top for the drape or a white t-shirt for the tux picture.

Prep Days for all grade levels will be held July 29th through August 1st. Prep Days are designed to allow incoming students to receive preliminary schedule, take student ID pictures, and manage other logistics in preparing for and easing into the first day of school.
While each grade level is scheduled for its own day and/or time, students may attend any day/time to work around schedule conflicts.

Join us in celebrating Decision Day 2024 at 10:30 AM in the Samuel Clemens Auditorium where seniors will declare their decisions to attend a college, university, trade school, or military enlistment. While the event will be livestreamed, parents & family are welcome to attend but must sign in at the front office prior to entering the auditorium.
Decision Day will be streamed live on the SCUCISD YouTube channel. A direct link for replay will be added at the ceremony's conclusion.
