While many are still perfecting their driving skills Deacon earns his private pilot license. ✈️ The Air Force JROTC Flight Academy is a US Air Force funded scholarship program that awarded 94 scholarships to select AFJROTC cadets to attend private pilot training at partner universities and colleges during the summer of 2026. The scholarships paid for round-trip airfare, room and board, course tuition, and flight hours required to potentially earn a Private Pilot Certificate (PPC) through an in-residence program that was approximately eight (8) weeks in length. Samuel Clemens High School and the TX-82nd AFJROTC program was fortunate enough to have senior Deacon Arnold earn one of the 94 scholarships that were awarded. He attended the University of Purdue and was the first to earn his private pilot license in his class of 19 cadets. Junior assembly today where we recognized this groups potential in their last EOC. Our USH scores are consistently one of the tops in the region and state and this class will definitely raise the bar. Last year we also had 75 students earn a 3 or higher on the AP World History exam. Today's HERD recipients were Ava C, Aric P, and Asher M. These 3 students have demonstrated great leadership academically as well as in extracurriculars. They are true to the Gold and Royal Blue representing dance, XC, football, track, and ROTC. Class of 2029 had their first assembly of the year. We celebrated this class earning 13% growth on masters for Biology last year and had 88 students earn a 3 or better on their very first AP test. That's 88 students that have already earned their CCMR point. We then recognized Cambree and John for their leadership and kindness on campus. Back to back classes with incredible achievements to go along with incredible people. #GoBuffs #Champions 💛🏆💙

Our first freshman assembly of the year for the Class of 2030! We recognized the academic achievements of this group and celebrated the progress they made last year at Corbett, including improvements on every STAAR assessment. That progress will only be strengthened with the addition of students joining us from Dobie. We wrapped up by recognizing three students who have already made an impact on campus. Keyden brought joy to hundreds of students with his smile and legendary dance moves. Lexie was a top finisher at this past weekend’s Varsity XC meet, while Samuel helped the Buffs secure first place in their first Varsity meet of the year. Our Athletic programs are off to some hot starts. Tennis is now 8-1 with a recent wins over Smithson Valley, Churchill, and Antonian. SCUC Education Foundation's One Community Scholarship Nights gives selected seniors the chance to kick a field goal during designated varsity football games for the opportunity to win up to a $2,000 scholarship toward their post-secondary education. No football experience is required

How It Works
● Open to all Class of 2027 seniors
● Students complete a simple online registration form. One entry per senior.
● Participants will be selected through a random drawing.
● Each selected student will participate between the 1st and 2nd quarter at one of the designated scholarship games.
● Students will have 75 seconds to complete up to two field goal attempts.
○ First attempt: 10-yard line
○ Second attempt: 3-yard line (if needed)
Scholarship Awards
● Every selected participant receives a minimum $500 scholarship.
● Students who successfully make a field goal will receive a $2,000 scholarship

Registration Opens: July 27
Registration Deadline: August 10
First Scholarship Night: September 25

🌟 ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE 🌟

Our students and teachers rocked their AP exams. In 13 different Advanced Placement (AP) subjects, our school’s average scores outperformed the state average.

Huge shoutout to the students who put in the late-night study sessions, and the teachers who guided them through every single unit.

Our students also racked up 596 tests scoring a 3 or higher! Because a 3+ can equal college credit, that means our kids just saved their families future college tuition before even walking across the high school graduation stage. Congratulations Buffs!

We know, we know… summer is still rolling, but those school supply aisles are calling! Before you buy, here’s a quick tip to help your student breeze through our metal detectors next month:

❌ Skip: Heavy metal 3-ring binders, spiral notebooks or backpacks with thick metal zippers, accents, or frames.
✅ Choose: Plastic 3-ring binders & composition books! 📓

School supply lists are content based and will be distributed the first days of school but starting with pens, pencils, highlighters, a few composition books, and a binder will help with a smooth start.
