Picture Day is Coming!

🏐 Our 8th-grade volleyball teams officially kicked off their season yesterday! We are proud of the energy, effort, and teamwork our athletes brought to the court. We are excited to watch them continue growing and competing throughout the season! Let’s go, Corbett! ❤️🏐

Two of our outstanding students proudly represented Corbett at last night’s Board Meeting alongside Mrs. Cromartie and Mrs. McWilliams! We love seeing our students step up, represent our campus, and lead the way. They made Corbett proud! ❤️🐎

🏐 What a night at Corbett! 🏐 Our 7th-grade volleyball teams played their first home games of the season, and the energy was incredible! Parents packed the stands to support their athletes, while our students filled the student section and brought the excitement all night long. Our A Team cheered on the B Team throughout their game, and the B Team returned the favor when it was time for the A Team to play. The student section even joined our volleyball players in chanting and cheering for their classmates! That kind of positive energy and support for one another is what Corbett is all about. After the games, a group of boys stayed to pick up all the trash in the stands, our volleyball players put away every chair and piece of equipment, and several teachers came out to support their students. It was an amazing night from beginning to end. We are proud of our students, coaches, staff, and families and we cannot wait to watch these teams continue to grow. It’s going to be an amazing year at Corbett! ❤️🏐

Hello Corbett Mustang Family, I am absolutely thrilled and honored to introduce myself as a new member of the Corbett Junior High School family! I was born and raised in Temple, Texas, and I am a proud product of Temple ISD. Education is truly my passion, and this marks my 15th year doing what I love most—changing lives and making a difference every single day. My mission in education is to ensure that every student has an equitable opportunity to become a successful, productive, and valuable member of society. I wholeheartedly believe that all students—no matter their circumstances—have both the right and the ability to learn, grow, and thrive. I hold a Master of Science in Educational Leadership as well as a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. I began my career in 2011 at Woodlake Hills Middle School in Judson ISD as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher. In 2015, I joined the incredible team at Laura Ingalls Wilder Intermediate School, where I taught 6th grade math, served as the RTI/MTSS campus lead, and was honored to be a department chair. Most recently, I had the privilege of serving as an assistant principal at Dobie Jr. High School for the past three years. Outside of school, I am a very proud mother to Dawnyail, Dyneisha, and Chace, who are all graduates of Steele High School in SCUC. They are my greatest joy and inspiration! I am beyond excited to become a part of the Corbett Mustang community! I cannot wait to build strong relationships with our students, staff, and families, and to work together to create a positive, supportive, and high-achieving environment for all. Behind every meal served is a team that works hard to make sure our students are fueled, cared for, and ready to learn. From early mornings to busy lunch periods, they greet students with smiles, kindness, and a whole lot of heart.

Today we celebrate the incredible individuals who start and end our students’ days with care, patience, and dedication—our bus drivers!
Rain or shine, early mornings and late afternoons, they safely transport our students while building relationships, offering smiles, and sometimes being the very first friendly face of the day.

On Monday and Tuesday of last week, our concert, symphonic, and honor bands attended the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation. All 3 bands received the coveted “sweepstakes” award! This is the highest possible rating that the judges can give a band at this evaluation. We are very proud of our Mustangs for their continued commitment and dedication to their craft! Go Band! Go Mustangs!

We had to pull the camera footage for this one. Team manager, Brayden, has been with the team all year long: every practice, every game, every step of the way. Last game of the season he scored on a buzzer beater and the whole gym went crazy! A team, B team, didn't matter. Every Corbett Mustang ran onto the court to celebrate with Brayden. What a special moment!
