Parents!
Your favorite nurse needs something else from my AWESOME PARENTS! 🙂 If your child is taking medication, uses an inhaler (They MUST have a current asthma action plan on file to do so even if they self-carry), has a current allergy action plan, seizure plan, diabetic plan for the school year you can email them to me at mmudge@scucisd.org. You are more than welcome to email me the current action plan or medication order for the new year. Every order must be renewed and updated every school year. You are also able to drop off any medications for your child next week, I will be on campus. I will ONLY ACCEPT medication that has a current doctor's orders. The district will not allow any medication to be given to any student without a proper physician order. The prescription label is not sufficient enough for administration. You can upload and print the forms to give to your doctor to sign on https://www.scucisd.org/o/scuc-isd/page/health-services and scroll down to "Allergies and Anaphylaxis" and "Medications and Forms"

Important Update: As we have transitioned from Ascender to Skyward, we’ve encountered several unforeseen challenges. Your continued patience during this process is greatly appreciated!
Skyward has temporarily closed Family Access due to a significant issue in their system which is impacting returning SCUC families (e.g., students previously attended SCUC ISD in 2023-2024).
At this time, only new to SCUC families can register their child(ren).
If you are a returning SCUC family, all enrollment verification (and registration of a new student) is temporarily closed. Please do not create an additional account to register or verify enrollment.
Please click the link https://5il.co/2ta29 to read the letter that was sent to parents through ParentSquare.
We will keep you posted when the system is back up and running again.

StudentSquare is a student communication companion to ParentSquare. StudentSquare provides a safe and secure platform for all student communication at school. The two-way group messaging, private conversations, district-wide alerts and notices, and simple user interface keeps everyone connected.

Updated Cross Country info

AUGUST 5-14
During these days, our whole campus is in Professional Development/In-service training throughout the day and away from our desks. We are checking email and voicemail between sessions and will get back with you as quickly as possible as we prep for the upcoming school year. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

An issue has been identified with Gmail account users and Skyward. Please add skyward-noreply@scucisd.org to your safe sender contacts to help Skyward emails from being filtered out.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

If your student missed Cougar Camp (or didn't come home with a QR code flier), not to worry. Scan it here!

My name is Marsha Mudge and I am the school nurse for ALL the students at Dobie Junior High School. I am so excited about this school year and the chance to meet all of you and your amazing kiddos! I have been a nurse for 20 years. I have done ER, ICU, labor and delivery, and school nursing. These kiddos are my passion. They give me life and fight that I need every day!! 🙂 If you need me, right now the best way to get a hold of me is email me. My email is mmudge@scucisd.org.
PLEASE READ!! Important Nursing notes for 2024-2025 School Year
Your child cannot start school unless they are cleared with immunizations. Your child must have a record of the Tdap and meningococcal vaccine on file or I must have a current original notarized conscience objection from the state. Please email me any updated immunizations to mmudge@scucisd.org. I have been sending out emails since January saying if you are not up to date.
We are doing a FREE shot clinic for tdap and meningococcal through the school-based health clinic on Dobie campus on 8/1/2024 from 0845am-2:00pm. If that time doesn't work for you, you can call them at 210-658-4875 to make an appointment. A parent needs to be present to administer vaccines. Please email me at mmudge@scucisd.org and I can send the documents that need to be filled out and you will also need TWO copies of their current shot record.
Students ARE NOT allowed to bring or carry any medication at school. However, inhalers and EpiPens may be self-carried, but the student must have an updated asthma action plan or allergy action plan and the doctor must specify that the student may self-carry. I am NOT able to administer medications without a MD order. You are required to provide all medications that the doctor orders. You can obtain the forms that need to be filled out by the doctor at https://www.scucisd.org/o/scuc-isd/page/health-services under the "Medications and Forms" tab. You may start bringing the medication and MD orders on 8/1. I will not accept any medication without MD orders signed and complete. All controlled medication (for example, most ADHD medications) must be brought in and counted in by the parent each time. I will notify you 7-10days If you are having trouble finding a form you may email me at mmudge@scucisd.org and I can provide you with the forms you need.
Please make sure your child brings a change of clothes (pants, shirts, underwear) in their bag. I do not have changes of clothes if your child needs to change clothes, so we will have to call you and have you bring them some. 🙂
I will start the mandatory screenings for student that are required by the state of Texas. I am in charge of screening almost 1000 students, so I screen them daily for months. I start screenings as soon as possible so I can get referrals out quickly. All 7th graders and all new 8th graders to the district will be screening for vision, hearing, and acanthosis nigricans. 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys will be screened for scoliosis. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to email me at mmudge@scucisd.org
I am the only nurse on campus for 1200-1300 students. I love these kids! I promise to go out of my way to help them and you in any way I can. I do try and keep kids in school though. If I feel like they are sick and need to go home, I promise I will call you. Please encourage your student to come see me if they are not feeling well. When your kiddos are here, I treat them like they are my own! These kiddos are great, and they are the reason I love my job!

Reminder: This Thursday is Cougar Camp
This event is for incoming 7th graders and new to Dobie 8th graders. Please plan to drop off/pick up your child at whichever session works best for your family's schedule or the entire length of one of the session. Teachers, Admin and other student leaders will be at the door to welcome and guide them. We know they will be nervous so we will take good care of them!
