Register for SCUC's multicultural showcase!

Students in Ms. Morales' and Ms. Economidis' Personal Leadership and Development classes are wrapping up the semesters showcasing all they have learned this year with Passion Projects. Each student got to pick a topic that they were passionate about to teach the class. Students chose a wide variety of topics yet were all still able to put together a professional presentation to present in class.

Please check our midterm schedule when you make appointments for next week. To keep interruptions to a minimum during testing, students can only be signed out at these times:
- Monday and Tuesday: 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:20 AM to 1:00 PM
If your student is absent for an exam, they will receive a 1 on their report card until it the test is made-up. Please coordinate with the teacher directly to schedule a make-up.
Thank you!

Progress reports are published in the Skyward Portal. Look for the Portfolio icon and then "sign" to access the report.

Today during all four lunches, students were selected at random to do the Minute to Win It cup stacking challenge. The challenges are presented by Dobie's PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) committee to promote a positive school environment.

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and Student Council (StuCo) worked together to donate to the Randolph Area Christian Assistance Program (RACAP) for our annual food drive. We collected over 1,000 items! Ms. Springfield's class won first place with 450 cans. Ms. Economidis' class came in second with 214 items, and Coach Castillo's class was third with 181. The 7th grade class won overall and collected more donations than the 8th grade. Great job giving back, Cougars!

Ms. Williams' classes got to try out different jobs using virtual reality today. The system lets students experience a job without leaving the classroom. Here are some of the things students were able to try:
- High wire electrical repairs
- Veterinary services
- Welding
- Medical (including knee surgery!)
- Culinary arts
- Roadside assistance
- Underground drilling
- And many more!

Dobie Cougars sure have talent! Our students showed up and showed out at tonight’s Talent Show, amazing all those in attendance.
Taking first place was Jasmine S. Second place was group act Julian and Elian. Third place was EJ D.
A special shout out to our judges Superintendent Meloni and the Board of Trustees, Cibolo Mayor Mark Allen, and Kathy Staley from RACAP.
All food donations from tonight as well as those collected during student Cougar Times will be brought to RACAP on Friday.

Congratulations to the 20 Dobie Honor Band students who earned a chair in the TMEA All-Region Band! Performing with only 5 hours of rehearsal speaks volumes about their talent, hard work, and dedication. It’s also great to see the support from parents and the leadership of Band Directors Mr. Robertson and Mr. Barbee. The Somerset Performing Arts Center was an incredible setting for this performance. Prior to the concert, students from Dobie and Corbett took a moment to snap a photo together.
Way to go, everyone!

FCA was up early this Saturday morning to make Blessing Bags to handout to those in need. They filled bags with small snacks and water that they provided and wrote a Bible verse in each.

Our ALE students joined their science buddies from Mrs. Nieves' class today to make solar oven s'mores. It was so much fun collaborating with other students while taking part in learning about heat transfer methods and enjoying a tasty treat.

Mark your calendars for Winter Midterm Exams!

🔆 Today in 7th grade science, we harnessed the power of the sun with DIY solar ovens! ☀️ Students experimented with their designs to see how heat and light can transform simple ingredients into tasty treats. 🍫
After our solar cooking adventure, they got creative with emotes, using science concepts to create fun, expressive icons that represent what they’ve learned. 🎨💡 From reactions to experiments to symbols of their favorite elements, these emotes let them bring science to life in a whole new way!
Who knew science could be so tasty and expressive? Keep up the amazing work, young scientists! 🧑🔬👩🔬 #STEMfun #SolarOvenScience #Science

🌟 Join the NJHS and Student Council in Making a Difference! 🌟
We are excited to announce our upcoming Canned Food Drive in support of RACAP, taking place from the 18th to the 21st! This is a fantastic opportunity for us to come together as a community and help those in need by donating essential canned goods and non-perishable items.
Not only is this a chance to give back, but there's also a fun twist! The CT that collects the most items will win a fabulous Chick-fil-A party, and the grade level with the highest number of cans collected will enjoy a special whole grade prize! 🎉
Let's show our community spirit and generosity by bringing in as many items as we can. Every single donation makes a difference. Together, we can make an impact and lend a helping hand to those who need it most. Thank you for your support! ❤️
