We’re going to New York in Summer 2026, and you’re invited!
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://rsvp.efexploreamerica.com/xxn23kc
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure
This tour is an extensive peek into Broadway and beyond. Students will gain the opportunity to workshop with professionals, see some amazing Broadway shows, tour a college campus, among many other amazing opportunities!
Thanks,
Ms. Myrick

Dobie Boys Basketball kicked off their 2025 season last night with all wins against Corbett Junior High. Great job Cougars!
Dobie is dedicated to organizing a significant community outreach event for the 2024-2025 school year. We have hosted a variety of events and are actively seeking feedback from parents and the community regarding our performance. Please be aware that both teachers and staff are investing considerable effort and sacrificing personal time with their families to ensure these events are successful and run smoothly. Your input and support are greatly valued.

Calling all current 7th grade parents! Join one of our zoom sessions to learn about courses for the 2025-2026 school year. See flyer for additional details.

Today, some of our 8th grade Gifted and Talented students traveled to Trinity University to participate in the Model U.N! Students began their work in October when they were each assigned a country and given the task of researching the country itself and the country's position on 2 main topics of debate: the death penalty and weapons in space. Students were placed in committees and engaged in discussion and debates with other students from all across San Antonio and the surrounding area. We are so proud of the effort each of our students have shown over the past few months of preparation, which culminated in Excellence Awards for many of our representatives!

Earlier this week, Ms. Economidis gave our school nurse, Marsha Mudge, a quilt made from T-shirts. The staff at Dobie donated the shirts. Barbara Gang, who taught at Dobie from 2022 to 2024, made the quilt.
Nurse Mudge, who has been fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer since May 2018, will be able to wrap herself in all our love and prayers during her chemotherapy treatments or anytime she needs a virtual hug from her Dobie family.
Attention incoming 7th grade families! Come learn about Dobie and 25-26 school year course selections Tuesday, January 21st from 5:30-6:30pm.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Angel Tree for Dobie students! This is only a portion of the gifts that were brought to help families in need.
Wishing you all a joyful and wonderful holiday season!
Mrs. Goode, CIS Site Coordinator
Today was a real treat at Dobie! First, our phenomenal staff was surprised with a Treat Trolley filled with delicious items donated by Dobie families as well as goodie bags courtesy of NJHS. Thank you to everyone who helped put a smile on their faces!
Our second treat was an appearance by the one and only Santa Claus who visited our ALE classrooms, both of which are on the nice list 😀
Happy Holidays!
For 7th grade art mid-terms, Mrs. Ramirez gave students the task of scaling up and designing a sneaker of their choice from a grid reference. Students could create their own unique design or recreate an existing design. Our 7th graders were VERY successful using the grids and many students said it helped them focus and break their drawing down into smaller, more manageable sections.

This past Friday, students from FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) wrote holiday cards to seniors in our community. They were delivered to the memory care residents at the Brooks of Cibolo who were very appreciative.

Congratulations to our Slim Chickens Athlete of the month, M. Dymond!
Register for SCUC's multicultural showcase!
Students in Ms. Morales' and Ms. Economidis' Personal Leadership and Development classes are wrapping up the semesters showcasing all they have learned this year with Passion Projects. Each student got to pick a topic that they were passionate about to teach the class. Students chose a wide variety of topics yet were all still able to put together a professional presentation to present in class.

Please check our midterm schedule when you make appointments for next week. To keep interruptions to a minimum during testing, students can only be signed out at these times:
- Monday and Tuesday: 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:20 AM to 1:00 PM
If your student is absent for an exam, they will receive a 1 on their report card until it the test is made-up. Please coordinate with the teacher directly to schedule a make-up.
Thank you!
