Dobie Families,
Saturday’s athletics check-in (8/8/26) is only for students who have successfully uploaded a current physical into Rank One.
To participate on Saturday, your student’s physical and all required forms must be uploaded and shown green in Rank One by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday (8/6/26). Students who have not completed this requirement will not be able to proceed through the stations and do not need to attend Saturday’s event.
We are expecting a large turnout on Saturday. Please encourage your student to move through each station promptly so they can enter and exit the building within a reasonable amount of time.
Parents are only needed to assist with purchasing or picking up athletics clothing and will not be able to proceed with students past the cafeteria unless a coach requests them. Students can complete all other stations independently.
Parking and indoor space at Dobie are limited. Arriving prepared and moving efficiently will help reduce traffic and keep the process running smoothly. This is a come and go so please feel free to arrive at staggered times (do not all arrive at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.)
Thank you for your patience, preparation, and cooperation.

Congratulations to our very own Officer Guel!

Officer G, as he is known to our students and staff, was the recipient of the Cibolo Police Department's Support Officer of the Year AND was named School Resource Officer of the Year for SCUC ISD.

He doesn’t just patrol our hallways; he serves as the heart and soul of our school community. A true practitioner of "gentle leadership," Officer G has redefined the role of a School Resource Officer by prioritizing empathy and human connection above all else. He understands that his most powerful tool isn't a badge, but the genuine, trusting relationships he builds with students every single day. Officer G is a constant, calming presence. He is never too busy to help, making every student and staff member feel seen, heard, and protected. When challenges arise, he handles them all with the same level of detail, ensuring every matter is resolved with integrity.

Dobie JH Honor Band Repeats as Best in Festival at Bluebonnet Music Festival

Cibolo, TX – On Friday, April 10, the Dobie Honor Band traveled to the renowned Lila Cockrell Theatre in downtown San Antonio to compete in the Bluebonnet Music Festival. This prestigious event attracts top-performing bands, choirs, and orchestras from across Texas and beyond, making it one of the region’s most competitive showcases.

Amid strong competition, the Dobie Honor Band delivered a memorable performance, earning a First Division rating, Outstanding Performance honors, and Best in Class. For the second year in a row, they were also named Best in Festival, solidifying their place among the top ensembles in the event.

“Taking the stage at Lila Cockrell Theatre is an experience our students will carry with them for a lifetime. Once they took their seats and locked in, they delivered a performance with even greater precision than at UIL Evaluation the week before,” said Band Director John Robertson. “This success is a direct result of the outstanding collaboration with Assistant Band Director Russell Barbee and the dedicated band directors at Steele High School, Schlather Intermediate, and Jordan Intermediate. Together, we’re helping our students grow and achieve at the highest level.”

The Dobie Honor Band, along with five other Dobie bands, will perform at their annual Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the Steele High School Auditorium.

At Dobie, we believe in giving back, and this year’s Jar Wars for Cystic Fibrosis was a massive success! We are proud to announce our winning Cougar Time classes, led by two of our amazing ELA teachers: Mrs. Junious and Ms. Springfield. "Small change can make a big difference." The local Cystic Fibrosis Foundation chapter joined us to present these classes with commemorative plaques to mark their achievement. We rounded out the celebration with pizza parties for the winning students. We are so proud of our Cougars for their generosity and look forward to raising even more next year!

In honor of Librarian Appreciation Day, we’re celebrating one of the very best—Mrs. Loomis! She’s the heart of our library and keeps everything running seamlessly. From making sure the book fair is a success to keeping Chromebooks in order, she’s the one who makes it all happen. Laminating and poster-making might be her specialties, but she does so much more! From Gamers Club and hosting after-school meetings to making IDs and creating fun lunchtime hangouts, she truly does it all. And of course, she’s always bringing in the latest and greatest books for our students. Mrs. Loomis is simply the best, and we’re so lucky to have her! 📚✨

Today we’re celebrating National School Librarian Day!

To the keepers of the stacks, the masters of the research database, and the people who always know exactly which book will turn a "non-reader" into a bookworm—thank you.

Our school librarians don't just check out books; they teach digital literacy, spark imaginations, and create a safe space for every student to explore the world. We are so lucky to have you in our hallways!
